Our Top 4 reasons to stay

Intercostal waterways

Dogs on beach

Cherry grove point

Golf carts

This was our third time visiting Cherry Grove Beach.  Twice in March and once in October.  There are a few features that make this beach special.  First reason is that we rent a house on the intercostal waterways.  It is a block away from the beach.  Having ocean water in the back yard is an experience all by itself.   Life slows down and starts to revolve around high/low tides and sunrises/sunsets.  You can even fish from the back yard if you like.

Second reason is that Cherry Grove beach is dog friendly.  We don’t bring our own dogs but love watching them walk down the beach.  The third reason is Cherry Grove point.  This area is constantly changing with the tides.  It is a place where ocean water is coming inland to the intercostal waterways.  There are lots of tide pools to play in.  It’s fascinating watching the changes between low tide and high tide.

Finally, the kids love it when we rent a golf cart.  They no longer beg to go swimming on vacation but love to be driven around in a golf cart.  There is a Cherry Grove boat ramp and nature preserve to explore.

The more touristy shopping centers and beach front for Myrtle Beach is an easy 30 – 40 min drive.  However, there is plenty to do and eat near Cherry Grove beach.

There is always something new to find at the beach.

Drive time from Louisville, KY to Cherry Grove beach is 10 hours before traffic and stops.  This makes it one of the closer beaches to us.  ROAD TRIP!
