This book starts out strong. We have a leading female that recently lost her father. She has been wronged by her ex-fiancé and her father’s associates. She is desperate for a job and has been stonewalled from her profession as a watchmaker. Enter a dashing lead male that has needs of her knowledge. The lead male is mysterious and there is a magical element about him.
There is a mystery to figure out and we do get answers at the end of the book. The answers where satisfactory but I wanted BIGGER magic.
The second book has a little more magic. It’s starting to build some. The story was good but nothing I feel like I want to continue. Overall, it is pretty tame and would be appropriate to listen to as a family.
