I discovered Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum Series over 10 years ago.  At that point there were eighteen books.  I ate them up! Loved them!  I even read Evanovich’s book about how to write.  I wrote 3 short children chapter books of my own.

In the beginning I had hope that Stephanie would settle down with one of her boys.  When I finally realized that isn’t going to happen I started losing interest in the books.

It’s been awhile since I have revisited this series.  Rex is still munching on carrots.  Stephanie’s apartment still isn’t secured.  She is still trashing cars and borrowing grandmas car.  Grandma still has lots of personality and like’s visiting funeral homes.  Stephanie hasn’t progressed with her relationships.

This book included a couple of characters from a different series of Evanovich’s.  That was new.

Yes, some classic elements are fun to see and revisit.  However, I could do that by rereading one of the earlier books in the series.  I wouldn’t mind some new elements.

At this point, for better or for worse, you know what you are getting when you pick up a Stephanie Plum book.
