Expectations – I’ve read the Guild Codex/Spellbound and the Guild Codex/Demonized series in the past. These series are quick and action filled in a world with magic and demons. They started off strong but by the end of those series I was disappointed. The author is good about getting her characters into trouble but not about getting them out. The romances are never really satisfactory. When people ask for books to read I don’t put these in the list. However, they are quick and action filled so they are a good way to pass the time until something better comes along.
The first book in the series has some Ryan Reynolds type of humor. The main character has more luck than skill. His incompetence is cringe worthy. There is a crooked legal system that there is no hope to overcome. Frustrating.
Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections

Nothing really to note from this book. The leading male’s trials to pass his exams were the best part of the book in my opinion. It’s just a book to pass the time till something better comes along.

This is the only book of the three that I would recommend and only if you have already read the Guild Codex/Spellbound series. A character from the previous series becomes a large part of the story and things become interesting. The leading male is also less jokes than the previous books and shows more competency in his powers.
